Your Colour Guide: New Names and Updates
Our stable keeps growing, so we’re making a few changes to help you find your way around our range. Below, you’ll find a quick guide to the essentials, including updates to our colour names in 2024.
.YARN TYPES.
Let’s start with our .FAMILIES.: groups of products made from the same type of yarn. There are currently three families of creatures at .KOPYTO.:
- .KLASYKI. 100% RWS merino wool. A smooth, worsted-spun yarn with the shortest surface nap.
- .PLUSZAKI. 100% RWS merino wool. A woollen-spun yarn with a slightly longer surface nap, giving it a plush feel and a delicate fuzzy finish.
- .PUCHACZE. 51% merino wool, 49% combed cotton. Our most substantial-feeling yarn, with the longest surface nap, makes accessories wonderfully soft and fluffy.
Different yarn types have different tendencies to pill, meaning they can develop tiny balls of fibre on the surface. This is a natural process. The longer the surface fuzz of the merino wool, the more readily it can pill, and the more often your hat or clothing may need a fabric shaver to keep it looking its best. If you prefer low-maintenance wool, choose .KLASYKI. If you’re happy to use a fabric shaver, the other families will be a great choice too :)
.COLOURS.
Because our .FAMILIES. use different types of yarn, shades can vary between models. We want to make our colour names consistent across the range.
From now on, each colour name refers to the same yarn shade, even across products from different .FAMILIES.
.COLOUR NAME CHANGES.
These changes make our range more consistent and help you find the right match. If you have last year’s .WILK. in caramel and would like a matching snood this season, choose .OPOS. in hazelnut.
